Dr. Kate Walsh
Dr. Kate Walsh born in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, & later grew up in the North Cascades in Washington State. After high school, Dr. Walsh moved to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah, where she graduated with her biology degree in 2009. Although she originally attended college to study genetics & stem-cell research, her focus changed when she started working as a veterinary technician at local veterinarian’s office.
Dr Walsh attend veterinary school at Ross University’s School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts in the West Indies. She completed her clinical rotations at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge before graduating with her veterinary degree in the fall of 2013. Dr. Walsh & her husband relocated to the Treasure Coast following graduation & welcomed beautiful twin girls the following year, in 2014.
Her professional interests include integration of western medicine with complimentary therapies in order to optimize her patients health & healing. Her fields of interest include small animal internal medicine, traditional Chinese veterinary acupuncture, veterinary medical manipulation (chiropractics), herbal therapy, laser & rehabilitation (physical) therapy.
Dr. Walsh is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) & Certified Veterinary Medical Manipulation Practitioner (CVMMP) & was trained at the Chin University in Florida. Dr. Walsh has also completed training courses in rehabilitation therapy & is currently working to complete her Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist certification (CVCH).
Dr. Walsh currently volunteers teaching at Fort Pierce’s Westwood High Schools Veterinary Assistant Program. She loves sharing her knowledge & skills & mentoring youth who have bright futures within veterinary & animal related fields.
Dr. Walsh enjoys spending time with her husband & twin daughters outdoors, relaxing on the beach, fishing, diving, sightseeing, watching her daughters ride horses & photography. She currently has a yellow lab named Buoy, 2 cats named Kiki & Kovu & a horse named Mick Dunn Dee aka Denny.
